The second story contained the cannons to protect the village.
Downstairs was the worship area, this was the pulpit from which Mr Brewster gave his sermons. Although he was not a preacher, he was their
spiritual leader.
Note that each family had a house and a fenced in area in which to grow
vegetables and have some livestock.
