This is what greeted us in Monticello NY. Thus far this is a record for the price per gallon and the total fill price. WOW! Getting home is beginning to look better! I actually smell a rat, diesel is now exactly one dollar than gasoline!
Passing through Danbury, CT.
On through Hartford, CT.
Izzy doesn't care where we are, it is all good to her!

On to NY State.
This is a beautiful NY rest area on Lake Chautauqua on I-86, extreme southwest NY
A shot looking over the picnic tables and the lake.
About 200 miles east we stayed in a campground about 5 miles off NY17 which continues on east from the end of I-86.
The campground is on the Susquehanna River near the town of Windsor, NY. The river is very low, they need rain also.

Back on the road and headed east.
To keep from going through Chicago we took US 6 to the south. It did take us through Joliet, this is part of downtown Joliet.
This is a high school in Joliet, it looked more like an armory.
And we went through Chicago Heights to the south of Chicago.
Thankfully we got back into the rural area east of Chicago.

On to MN and Itasca State Park.
This explains about the search.
This is the Mississippi's beginning where it runs out of Lake Itasca.
Barbara just down stream from the beginning, showing people in the background walking across the Mississippi.
Part of the 10 mile wilderness road in the park.

More of ND travels.
Izzy continues to do most of her traveling on the dash in front of me. At times she really puts on a show!
This farmer made an interesting display from round hay bales. We actually had to turn around and go back to take this picture, but would not have missed it for the world. To me this is an absolutely beautiful picture! Left click on it and blow it up and check it out.
As most of you know, I like being in the middle of things!
Typical flat roads in part of ND.

This shows the Little Missouri River that runs through the park.

Another shot showing the river.

We continue on to North Dekota.
The entrance to Teddy Roosevelt National Park.
A herd of "wild buffalo" in the park.
The rock to the right of the picture is called an "erratic". This rock was moved from a area in Canada about 400 miles to the north and deposited in the area by a glacier! There are a lot of these erratics in ND. In cultivated fields we saw where the farmers had piled the rocks in the fields to get them out of their way.
This is a general over view of the ND badlands that are in the park.

We stopped at Fort Laramie, Wy on our way to ND.
This is the entrance sign.
This was where the troops sleep.
This is the restored "Old Bedlam"
One the way back into the Town of Fort Laramie there was a sign that we wish we had been able to get a picture of, it read " Fort Laramie, a town of 250 good people and 6 sore heads". A guess all towns must be somewhat like this!

More at the Buffalo Ranch.
This was the wind farm that was on the back side of the hill in front of the motor home.
They also have Llama.
And goats.
And camels.

At Cheyenne we stayed at the Terry Buffalo Ranch.
This is a very small part of the Buffalo herd that was in the pasture in front of the motor home.
This red fox came trotting by one evening and I took this picture through the motor home windshield.
This is herd of wild Elk that was using the pasture out front one afternoon.
This chipmunk was running around in the grass at the edge of the motor home. Izzy pointed him out to us. I opened the window and screen to take this picture.
