We hung up the Spring Hope sign that the Town furnished. Now Spring Hope is represented in the Watson Lake Sign Forest.
Jake and Linda also hung a sign that Jake made. He also put one up in 1999 but could not find it! They have been changing out the old posts and the sign is either out of place or missing!
A closeup of the sign showing what we put on the bottom. It reads, "4559 miles----------> Richard C. & Barbara Ellis 6/25/07"
A shot showing part of the other reported 60,000 plus signs from all over the world.

Out of order! Forgot these off my camera!
Dawson Creek, BC, beginning of the Alaska Highway.
Several more signs noting the same.
The first several hundred miles was rather boring, just more trees. Just what a couple retired foresters needed to see!

Blackie and Laird Hotsprings.
Blackie checking out the campground!
Barbara soaking in the hotspring water
Linda just down stream.
Picture taken of upstream where the water comes out of the ground and it is very hot! Too hot for some and just right for others!

We continue northward.
Two beautiful shots taken by the copilot through the windsheald
Moutain goats along side the road.
For you forestry types this is a picture of Lodge Pole Pine that has been killed by the Mountain Pine Beetle. Most of the LPP in the south and west of British Columbia is dead! Environmental groups prevented the early salvage and control logging needed to hopefully control the beetle. Now they are crying "do something" and it is too late! The infestation has also spred into western Alberta. Some salvage has been done but very little. There was several hundred miles where there appears to be no live pines.

Buffalo Jump 6/19
This is the cliff where the Indians of old drove the buffalo off to their death. This was how they got their meat before they got guns.
Indians hang the rags in the trees, they are their pray rags.
A shot from the cliff showing the windmill farm in the distance.
Barbara and Linda looking at a Tipi inside.
